Writing Supports
Word Reference has
two of its own dictionaries plus those of Collins. The French dictionary has
over 250,000 translations. It also
offers a forum that will provide feedback regarding expressions or words that
are not found in the dictionary. Also
available as an App for both Apple and Android. Recommended for ages 10 and up.

BonPatron is a grammar checker that finds common spelling errors and grammatical
mistakes in French. It provides hints
for students to either change or check their work in order to help them revise
their writing. Recommended for ages 10 and up.

Verb2Verbe is grammar support site that conjugates thousands of verbs in French. Providing students with the correct spelling of the verb in various tenses, this website is designed to support students in revising their writing. Recommended for ages 10 and up.

DSBN Devoirs Online help is provided Sunday through Thursday, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted. DSBN French Immersion Support offers live, online sessions with a DSBN French Immersion teacher. The site also offers links to educational online resources, a Toolbox and a section for “Frequently Asked Classroom Questions”.

FSL Toolbox supports parents who have children in a “French Immersion” (FI)
program and wish to assist them with homework in French. It is also a resource
for FI students who require an accessible user friendly reference tool to help
with homework. Learners and educators in other FSL programs will also find it
helpful. Recommended for all ages.

Duolingo is a language program that draws on the gamification of learning to help your child progress in French. Duolingo is the free science-based language education platform selected by Apple as iPhone App of the Year 2013, by Google as Best of the Best for Android 2013, and by TechCrunch as Best Education Startup.
